Mobile Device Contacts Gaining More Priority Among App Developers Than Social Networking Services

mobile apps Mobile Device Contacts Gaining More Priority Among App Developers Than Social Networking Services

A major factor that brought the social networking phenomenon bursting on the Internet with lightning speed was the concept of keeping in touch with your family and friends on a singular platform and also get a chance to explore and find new people to connect with. With advent of social networking big hitters such as the likes of Facebook and Twitter, millions of users found what the Internet was lacking for all these years. However, this vast level of online communication has is slowly bringing actual social life to a redundancy level.

This could very be the factor because of which nowadays, more and more application developers are adopting the “mobile first, web second” policy, wherein these developers are giving more priority to the contacts in your mobile phones, rather than your Facebook contacts as far as their applications are concerned. Two of the most successful mobile operating systems, Google Android and Apple iOS have already given the developers the leverage to let their applications gain access to the users’ phone books, after explicit approval, of course! One such application is, addappt. Designed and developed specifically for the Apple iPhone , the application makes use of the users’ contact book from the device and then cross references these names and find out which of your contacts have currently signed up for various types of conferences. So far, most of the companies including Google Inc. and Apple Inc. have taken the wrong approach in creating a social graph of their users, as these companies have always looked upon computers as their target, when clearly mobile devices are the solution to building a sustainable and reliable social graph.

Twitter grows due to mobile platforms

Untitled 13 Twitter grows due to mobile platforms

The number of users of the microblogging service Twitter just keeps growing. Created in 2006, the site has 145 million accounts, less than five months after reaching the mark of 100 million entries. The information was released on Thursday (2) by the chief executive, Evan Williams, in a blog post on the official product.

He noted particularly the growth in access to the service through mobile devices. Since April, when the first conference company focused on developers, there was an increase of 62% of the total mobile users. For him, the trend is a result of the investment the company has made in recent months to be on all mobile platforms.

A company’s strategy was to seek a similar approach with Twitter for BlackBerry application developed by RIM, and Twitter for Android. This week, the company launched Twitter to iPad, which utilizes unique features such as screen size and fluidity of the interface of Apple‘s multitouch tablet. “Today, 16% of all new Twitter users get into mobile devices, compared to 5% before the launch of our first mobile application with the Twitter brand,” says the executive.

Williams pointed out that while applications for smartphones are important, there is still a fairly large number of people accessing Twitter on mobile phones through the mobile version of the site in the browser itself or by SMS.

Social Networking Takes A New Turn As MySpace Collaborates With Facebook

Myspace Logo Social Networking Takes A New Turn As MySpace Collaborates With Facebook

The social networking behemoth, Facebook Inc. will now become a platform for MySpace users to share their posts on. MySpace, one of the few social networking companies that are actively giving competition to Facebook, will now enable its vast user base to synchronize their posts with that of Facebook. This move comes at a time when, MySpace has been seen upgrading its user interface to the extent that, it has now begun to resemble that of Facebook.

With the advent of this new feature, Facebook users will now be able to view the posts and updates put up by the MySpace contacts right inside Facebook, thereby hinting at MySpace’s efforts to alter its business model from that of a competitor, to an ally. Furthermore, this all new service will allow MySpace users to share multimedia content as well including, music, videos, game applications, links and photos on both the websites. Though some time ago, MySpace was indeed one of the fastest growing social networks, but the explosion of Facebook’s popularity with its 500 million plus users, MySpace started feeling the crunch of being left behind, with a consistent fall in advertising revenues and a severe drop in new user accounts. The micro blogging sensation, Twitter, has already been paired with MySpace, so that the users can update both their MySpace and Twitter accounts from either of the websites.

Web Traffic: Guaranteed to be The Easiest Way to Generate FREE …

Maybe you haven’t been told this but traffic doesn’t simply come to your site after you have built it. you have to direct traffic to it. There’s hundreds of ways of doing this and the more ways you use the better.

New Internet Marketers are unfortunately left out in the cold when it comes to traffic generation. Gurus inform Newbies what to do but many times, don’t inform them of the HOW, WHEN or WHERE. sometimes, I hate to say, that is on purpose. Personally, I cannot see the sense in it as there is plenty of Internet out there to go around!

The way Twitter works is, normally if you follow somebody, they will more than likely follow you back. This is what we want happening BUT we want to ensure that we get targeted followers. the only way you can do this is by being picky about who you follow first.

Being picky about who we follow just means that you only follow those who you would want to follow you in return. Don’t just go willy-nilly and follow everybody that is in Twitter, unless of course, the product you are selling on your website is so generic that it is something everyone would want. which is most likely not the case.

So we do what is called selective following which means that you only follow those who you wish to have following you back. you wouldn’t just go crazy and follow everybody that is in Twitter, unless of course, the product you are selling on your website is so generic that it is a product that belongs in everyone’s home. which is most likely not the case.

The first thing to do when creating a Twitter account that can generate traffic for your website is to get as many followers as possible. the more you have – the more traffic you can generate, the more traffic you can generate – the more you can increase your mailing list. but there are healthy and not so healthy ways to generate a following on Twitter.
